Listening: ‘Broken Sorrow’ by Nuttin’ But Stringz

Reading: ‘Off Season’ by Anne Rivers Siddons

Thinking: Daily, weekly, bi-weekly, whatever.

How to Annoy Me: I wouldn’t know *where* to begin…

How to Charm Me: Talk me down off the crazy ledge.

Quote of the Day: I believe that two people are connected at the heart, and it doesn’t matter what you do, or who you are, or where you live; there are no boundaries or barriers if two people are destined to be together. – Julia Roberts 🙂

Listening: ‘Le Disko’ by Shiny Toy Guns (My favorite part is when the disco ball explodes.)

Enjoying: “Equality…but only if you want it.”

Thinking: “If what they say is true, you’re a boy and I’m a girl. I will never fall in love with you.”

How to Annoy Me: Listen to my freaked out voicemail and tell me I sound like an angry chipmunk.

How to Charm Me: Refrain from pointing out my obvious hypocrisy when I scold you for not simply asking for help.

Quote of the Day: I think we dream so we don’t have to be away from one another. If we’re in each others dreams, we’ll always be together. – Hobbes

Watching: ‘Donnie Darko’

Thinking: It’s not comforting when your little brother says “If someone comes to the door, don’t answer. They’re expecting money I don’t have.” And then when you ask if they will be toting a gun, little brother answers, “I hope not!”

How to Annoy Me: Keep asking me if I’m talking to so-and-so and then ask if you asking makes me self-conscious and when I say yes, decide to torture me for being honest.

How to Charm Me: Let us take our quiz together so I have a better chance of getting a good score.

Quote of the Day: Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply gives you courage. – Lao Tzu

Listening: ‘Colorblind’ by Natalie Walker

Reading: The back of my Sudafed box.

Thinking: We should try tofurky for Thanksgiving. 😀

How to Annoy Me: Call my pastor’s house at midnight looking for me.

How to Charm Me: Talk me down from the panic I worked myself into over being alone in a new house.

Quote of the Day: Family is just an accident…They don’t mean to get on your nerves. They don’t even mean to be your family, they just are. – Marsha Norman

Listening: ‘I’d Rather Dance With You’ by Kings of Convenience

Reading: ‘Everything Readable’

Thinking: I need to work on giving people grace. My patience for stupidity is low.

How to Annoy Me: Manipulate people.

How to Charm Me: Tell me that you are proud of me for voting Libertarian.

Quote of the Day: I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences for every deed, word, and thought throughout our lifetime. – Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Listening: ‘As’ by Stevie Wonder (Which I always thought was called ‘I’ll Be Lovin’ You Always’.)

Reading: ‘Change of Heart’ by Jodi Picoult

Thinking: Perhaps he’s learned…

How to Annoy Me: Bite my head off for a mistake that I had absolutely nothing to do with and is not in my power to remedy.

How to Charm Me: Help me get that damn door shut for the 3rd night in a row.

Quote of the Day: Character is doing the right thing when no one is looking. There are too many people who think that what is right is to get by, and the only thing that’s wrong is to get caught. – J. C. Watts

Listening: ‘Oh’ by Dave Matthews (This is one of my all time favorite songs by him.)

Reading: “For the past two years or so, numerous media pundits have been all abuzz over the so-called “death” of the Religious Right. There is one problem, however: Someone forgot to tell the Religious Right.”

Thinking: Mmmbop….tick a ta….

How to Annoy Me: Keep talking when I have repeatedly said that I need to get going.

How to Charm Me: Tell me that you “approve” of the molasses bread. 😀

Quote of the Day: Hanging onto resentment is letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head. – Ann Landers

Listening: ‘Hypnotize’ by Notorious B.I.G. (Have I mentioned my tastes are eclectic?)

Reading: Someone has put *way* more thought into the singleness stuff then I ever will…

Enjoying: “I love humanity. It’s people I hate.” Or…the church.

Thinking: I really need to stop calling these “daily”. More like Whenever-the-hell-I-get-around-to-it How To.

How to Annoy Me: Threaten to send me “I’m no Superman” texts every 20 minutes because you’re doing a ‘Scrubs’ marathon.

How to Charm Me: Carve time out of your schedule to help me study for this frakking test.

Quote of the Day: Let go. Why do you cling to pain? There is nothing you can do about the wrongs of yesterday. It is not yours to judge. Why hold onto the very thing which keeps you from hope and love? – Leo Buscaglia

Listening: ‘Just Like A Pill’ by Pink

Reading: Still reading Dorothy Parker. Portable does not equal short.

Thinking: This is *exactly* why I hate politics…

How to Annoy Me: Leave a hate-filled message on the wall of one of my best friends and then leave a similar message on mine, tempered only by the fact that you don’t know for sure who I voted for. But come as close as you possibly can to blaming me for the deaths of 40 million babies and basically anything else that has gone wrong with the world. Because clearly you speak for God and Jesus clearly would have voted for McCain.

How to Charm Me: When I tell you how I voted, say “Okay” and then let us move on with our lives.

Quote of the Day: The mission of God reminds us to election is missional: God creates the people of God not so the people of God can compare themselves to those who are not God’s people, but so that God’s people will become a priesthood in this world to mediate the mission of God so that all hear the good news that God’s grace is the way forward. – Chris Wright (emphasis mine)
