Thinking: Weddings are a pain. Doesn’t matter how laid back the people are or how simple they try to keep things, something always goes wrong.
How to Annoy Me: Refuse to answer my question and tell me “It’s in the email.” Jerk.
How to Charm Me: Insist that you not hitting your brother back was a great thing, even though you locking him in the room is what prompted him to hit you. š
Quote of the Day: May your whole life become a response to the truth that you’ve always been loved, you are loved, and you always will be loved. And may you know, may you know deep in the depths of your soul, that there’s nothing you could ever do to make Him love you less. Nothing you could ever do to make God love you less. Nothing you could ever do to make Him love you less. Nothing. Nothing. – Rob Bell

Great Bell quote! Do you know the source? (I’m assuming a nooma, but which one?) I’ll probably use it in some way this upcoming Sunday. Thanks!

I think it’s in the one on shame. When I first saw it, I interpreted what he was saying to his son differently than other people did. I thought “Nothing you could ever do would make me love you less” meant that he was saying the most deplorable thing to thing to his 5 year old child: that what his child had just done was the one thing that would make his child be loved the least. The kid’s response (bursting into tears) confirmed that I wasn’t alone in my understanding. I was aghast and angry… until I did what I usually do and reexamined the sentence, and realized there was a better interpretation. Unfortunately, the complexity of the sentence had confused my largely non-verbal thinking, and I feel bad for his son, because he probably didn’t understand it either.
